Seminar on geodetic networks on November 12, 2010

On November 12, 2010, at the War Museum, the LGIA organized a seminar for local government leaders and representatives “Local Geodetic Network and its Database”.

The seminar was attended by 75 participants from 60 municipalities. In the first part of the seminar, LGIA specialists introduced the requirements of the Geospatial Information Law, told about the implementation of the state policy in the field of geodesy, about the use of modern technologies (GPS measurements with LatPos) for geodetic measurements and provided a summary of the survey on local geodetic networks.

The second part of the seminar was dedicated to the national geodetic network database and the test version of the local geodetic network database (VTDB). Municipalities are invited to test the VTDB (they have been provided with usernames and passwords) in order to test the functionality of the VDTB and make suggestions for the necessary improvements to the VTDB, which would allow municipalities to use this database for their own needs the local geodetic network of the territory (as determined by the Geospatial Information Law).

LGIA will continue to organize seminars with local governments on the issues of local geodetic networks.
