The satellite map is designed as a digital base for geographic information systems (GIS). The map data is arranged in several layers, which include all the main terrain objects: watercourses, traffic roads, land use (lakes, rivers, buildings, vegetation, etc.), point objects (farmsteads, churches, tower-like structures, etc.), relief, administrative boundaries, transport networks (high-voltage power lines, oil and gas pipelines), geographical names. Raw materials for the initial mapping - 1993 SPOT medium resolution (10 m) satellite images, restoration 1994-1999 aerial photography materials. Production period 1994-1998 year, renewed 2001-2002 per year. No further map renewal is planned, as more accurate cartographic material is produced and regularly updated - a topographic map in the scale of 1:50 000.
