High resolution layers 2012
2012: High Resolution Layers - Provides information on specific land cover properties and is suitable for land cover / land use mapping, eg in CLC datasets. HRLs are generated from satellite images with a resolution of 20 m using a combination of automatic processing and classification based on interactive rules. To date, five themes have been identified that correspond to the main CLC themes, i.e. compacted soil (impermeability), tree density and forest type, (semi-) natural grasslands, wetlands and permanent bodies of water.
