Orthophoto maps

The orthophoto map is made from aerial photographs with specialized computer programs for this purpose.
An orthophoto is an image of the earth's surface that eliminates any distortion that occurs at the time of shooting as a result of the slope and terrain.
Orthophoto maps for the entire territory of Latvia are prepared in TIFF format in accordance with the resolution determined during the aerial photography period.

Aerial photography and orthophoto map preparation for the territory of Latvia takes place in accordance with the LGIA strategy. Currently, there is a 3-year period for renewing the orthophoto map.
